Rocket City MakeUp

I wanted to share this little piece of history I’ve had with this product and why I love this product so much. I was 15 when I first started using this product and the trio I had was this amazing green, I don’t remember the name since I don’t have it anymore. I use to get so many compliments on wearing the eyeshadow trio and every time I mentioned the product no one ever heard of it. Well they use to carry this in sephora and for some odd reason they stopped. Last year in December I googled Rocket City and I found it again. WOOOOOHOOOOO well the down side was they didn’t have my favorite color, regardless I still bought all the colors they had left. I use to apply this with my fingers back then and I didnt use a primer either. Plus they had every single color of the rainbow. The pigment on the eyeshadow is awesome for what it was back then and it still is, but there are more products out there now that have more pigment.

I still love Rocket  City and I wish that they still carried the line. When they sold it in sephora they would sell the trio for 18$ Well guess what guys I found them on a web site for $1.99 so I bought every single color they had left and doubled the quantity since I know that this line is discontinued.

They also had this awesome Cosmic Blush cream that I loved so much. The cream blush was super workable and it came in two shades: Pink or Rose, and Gold. I used the gold back then for highlights and it left a shimmery glow that stood on all day!

Make-Up Faves from a Previous Shoot

Here are some of the products that were used on yesterdays shoot.

Make-Up For Ever- All Mat

this is an all matte primer, I use this normally on t-zones and for photo shoots to keep the shine down on someone who has oily skin. I also use this on men since some guys don’t like the feeling of having to much make up on. This is great for under foundation or even just wearing it alone. The consistency of this product is exactly like a serum, it goes on smooth and of course it’s colorless.

Pixi-Eye Colour Sealer

-This is a liquid base pigment or eyeshadow sealer. I’ve used this products to intensufy pigments, eyeshadows, and also to seal glitter. This is even great to wear alone on the eyes for primer. This actually stays on when you use it with a pigment. The trick is letting the sealer dry before the next application.

Stila Smudge Pot 24k- Golden Noir

– A black cream base eyeshadow with gold bits. I enjoy using this product for a smudgey smokey eye. A little goes a long way, it has a wonderful smooth, blendable consistency for the eyes. This can also be used as an eyeliner but I really love using this for smudging, it’s easy to work with plus a little goes a long way.

Urban Decay eyeshadow Pigment-Godess

-I love this color. Its a dark iridescent purple with glitter. LOVE it. This was the first time I’ve used this product and I must say I love the color and its also true to its color. Can’t wait to use the other ones.

M.A.C Pearlized sheer Pigment- Good as Gold

I use this product so much and I love love love this I don’t know what I would do with out this. This a sheer light gold pigment that can be used for almost anything. I use this for highlights and adding a  bit of shine to my eyes. If you want an all over glow on the face, this is a great product to use.

China Glaze- Sexy in the city

-A mettalic turquoise blue with glitter. It has a great finish with out the streaking 2 coats shall do the trick

China Glaze-Flying Dragon

A purple iridescent polish with tiny specs of blue glitter. No streaks and a super vibrant purple with a great shine

China Glaze Nail Polish

I went and bought some China Glaze nail Polishes from a nail store by my house. I went and got almost every single nail polish color that they had. The owner of the store was kind enough to sell them to me for $1 since I was buying more than 5 lol. It was a great buy I mean the color of polishes were dead on, plus it didn’t leave those awkward streaks. I love love love them. On top of that I also bought the top base,  a straightener which has calcium to help the nails grow. These were 3$ and its definitely worth it. The fast drying nail drops by China glaze is so amazing compare to a 15$ sephora fast drying drops. I mean I love both products don’t get me wrong but I got the fast drying drops by china glaze for 4$. I was so happy!!!! Its really works and when you use it with the fast drying top coat and the base it even works better. My nail polish have not chipped at all, the scent of the nail polish isnt crazy strong, plus majority of their color line has nail hardeners which helps the polish dry faster. I love these nail polishes. Great buy plus I plan to use them on the photoshoots I do for beauty looks.

Annelise’s Pretty in Pink

Annelise Pretty in Pink

My inspiration for this look was from a bottle of nail polish that I recently bought. A lot of time went into creating this look, although it looks natural and simple. It was the attention to detail that made Annelise’s Pretty in Pink come all together for the photoshoot.

The basic concept was to do a supple clean pinks, golds, and purples to compliment the color of the nail polish and to also enhace the olive undertones of her skin.

I started of with prepping the skin; remove excess oils using make-up wipes, toner to tighten up pores, and an spf free moisturizer to alleviate the shine from the spf. Prepping the skin is important it allows the skin to absorb make-up easily.

The Base

I then used an oil control mattefying primer on the T-zone and a small amount on the apples of her cheek. This allows me to apply a smooth foundations base. I used a cream base foundation for her base, Since her skin is in great condition. I then concealed under the eyes to color correct the discoloration. I prepped her lips using a moisturizing lip balm to get rid of dry spots on her lips for an easy lip application.

Annelise has great face, I made sure that I brought out her natural features. Since she has amazing cheek bones I used a small amount of cream foundation a shade or 2 darker then her skin tone to contour and bring out her features. I used a translucent loose powder to set the foundation all over her face.

I am brow freak. lol. Its so important to tend the brows before any preparation for the eyes. The brows plays a huge role on the face, It shapes the face and it also draws attention to the eyes. Creating a clean brow is easy. I use a brow brush to brush the hair up, this creates the illusion of a small eye lift with out going under the needle. I use one shade of brown lighter than her natural hair color, using a small angled brush or brow brush I fill it in with an upward motion; this helps create a more natural looking eyebrow. I then use and eyebrow sealer, you can purchase an eyebrow sealer at any store, I normally don’t use brow gels because it takes to long time to dry, unless I’m doing a wet brow look. A cheap trick I do is hairspray, I spray the brow brush or a disposable mascara wand and apply it directly in an upward motion to the brows. Make sure not to over saturate the brush. This seals the color of the shadow and the brow hairs!

I prime the eyes with an eyeshadow primer if you don’t have one you can use a concealer. I use a irradecent eyeshadow called Shroom by M.A.C all over the eyelid and specially on the brow bone. I apply Sushi Flower and the Hello Kitty Nice Kitty pallette in Pink. I then used Gold Mine and Amberlights together for some highlights on the center of the lid. To enhance the crease I used the Nice Kitty in Pink to contour the crease bringing it further in to the the ridge line of her nose. all the products I mentioned right now you can get at M.A.C I wanted to give her eyes more drama, I used a Yaby eyeshadow pearl paint- eggplant

on the crease. I then lined her eyes with a kohl eye pencil in black, using a flat angled brush I went over the liner to smooth out the pencil line to give it a softer look. I curled the lashes and added lots of mascara.

I used a bronzer to give her a bit of glow all over the face and specially under the cheek bone to bring out her cheeks. I then used a peachy matte color blush called Immoral by Rock and Republic on her cheeks. I then used a loose gold shimmer powder on her cheek bones to bring out the Highlights.

I used Bobbi Brown in Flirt to line all over her lips. I filled it in with Hue and Jublee by M.A.C with a lip brush. To give a supple shine to her lips I used Lancomes Juicy Tubes in a clear pink in the center of her lips.

I used China Glaze- Sex on the beach.

This was the first look we did for the day.
